Driver arrested for going 122mph in east Polk County, 62mph over the speed limit

Media Contact: Brian S Bruchey

Just after 6pm on Saturday, November 22, 2025 a PCSO deputy observed a black Lexus IS250 going very fast on US 27 in the Waverly area.

A radar check of the Lexus showed it to be traveling at 122 mph in a 60 mph zone-- more than twice the limit.

At that time, the driver of the Lexus must have seen the patrol car, because his speed dropped rapidly, but was still going 104 mph as it passed the deputy.

A traffic stop was conducted.

The deputy made contact with the driver, 21-year old Alexis Miguel Ocasio Garcia of Davenport. and informed him of the reason for the traffic stop.

Alexis admitted he was aware of his speed and offered no excuse. He apologized and asked if he could just get a warning.

Alexis Ocasio Garcia was arrested and taken to the Sheriff's Processing Center. He was charged with Dangerous Excessive Speeding.
